Arrival in New York – Active Schools Challenge
Our participation in the Active School Programme continues this school year, with great enthusiasm from all students. Students chose New York as a destination for their athletic challenge.
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, students took turns to run laps around the hall and decided individually how many laps they would run each day. A lap counted as 1km but was doubled on some days too. A student recorded the number of laps run, measuring the distance covered each day.
The date of arrival in New York was the 18th of November. There was great excitement when Enan Glynn finished the final lap of honour to reach our destination! Students had prepared lovely artwork and some culinary treats for a New York Street party! It was a totally enjoyable morning in Marino School.
Well done to all our amazing athletes and congratulations on completing another successful running challenge in our Active School Programme!!
