Active School Update
As part of our participation in the Active School Programme, we have continued our run across Europe this term. The students reached Rome in May and chose Athens as their next destination. The proposed date of arrival was the 22nd of October, the last day of school before the Halloween mid-term break. The distance to run was 2367kms!
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, students took turns to run laps around the hall and decided individually how many laps they would run each day. A lap counted as 1km but was doubled on some days too. A student recorded the number of laps run and we had a draw to choose the student who would run the last lap into Athens bearing the special Olympic Torch. The winner was Grace McSharry who ran with pride and speed and did us all proud.
Well done to all our amazing athletes and congratulations on completing another successful leg of the run around Europe!!
The next destination will be decided when we return to school in November.
