Students in Marino School participated in the Marine Institute's Explorers Healthy Ocean Project this year. Mona McCrea facilitated the student’s engagement in the project. There is always a lot of interest in Marino Life and special facts about the sea. There was great participation from students and Mona made the content so interesting and accessible for everyone, with the use of visuals and interactive resources. We had a workshop in school in January 2026 and this was followed by a seashore safari in April, when the weather improved. All students were certainly motivated to participate in the fact-finding activities, having learned the facts earlier in the workshop. Each student had a box to collect interesting things on the seashore and we were amazed at what we found and what everyone learned. Well done to Mona on making all the content accessible for all levels of need and for engaging us in an enjoyable field trip to lovely Bray Seafront. We all enjoyed ourselves and went for a nice treat to Finnbees cafe afterwards!
