Trip to the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA)
On Thursday 27th October 2022 the senior students enjoyed a very informative trip the DSPCA Centre in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin. It was a lovely day for a trip to the foothills of the Dublin Mountains and students were excited, as this educational trip formed part of their Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Caring for Animals Programme. Prior to the visit, we enjoyed an interesting Zoom call with Mr. Brendan O’Connor, Assistant Education Officer with the DSPCA. The topic of that talk was “Taking Care of our Pets at Halloween” and it was very relevant for all of us, students and adults alike. Upon arrival to the DSPCA Centre, Brendan brought the students to some of the great facilities used to house the various animals including Cats, Dogs, Ducks and Drakes, a Snake, Donkeys and some Ponies. Well done to all staff in DSPCA on their great work.
