Marino Community Special School is delighted to accept a generous donation of €1,000.00 from Euro Giant, a local business in Bray.
Marino Community Special School plans to develop a small accessible library space for students attending Marino School. The student council, in collaboration with staff members and parent representatives, has prioritised the development of this project, to enable students with sensory impairment, physical disabilities and sensory dysfunction, to benefit from a relaxing library space, which provides a range of accessible literature, through different mediums of visuals and text.
The library development project will include the development of a small library space, to enhance accessibility to all mediums of literature – interactive screen for chess and Minecraft clubs/interactive literacy games; iPads for individual work/reading; comfortable surroundings to provide a calm relaxing environment; a selection of books (audio, digital, hardback and story bags with sensory input, story online and books made by students), headphones.
This project is student-led and will certainly develop a unique learning space in Marino School, both for individuals and small groups. We look forward to realising the development of this project over the course of this school year.
A sincere thank you to EuroGiant in Bray for their generous donation this school year.
